Changing the Download Settings in Your Browser
To print a report use either Option 1 or Option 2 as shown below.
Open the report.
Select File/Print from the browser menu.
This will print only the portion of the report that displays on the screen. If the report is more than one page, use the Printable View button as described below.
Click the Printable View button on the report
This will display the full report in a print-ready format in Excel.
Reports can be emailed to other Alertboot users who may not have access to the reporting module.
To email a report:
Click the Email link to the left of the report that you wish to send.
On the next screen, select at least one recipient from the To list. The Carbon Copy (CC) and Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) lists are optional selections.
Select a Priority for the email and select the type of file format for the attached report (Excel, HTML, PDF or All three)
Enter a Subject and any message.
Click the Send button to convert the report and send it to your intended recipients.
Note: If you want to email a report to someone who is NOT an AlertBoot user, you must export the report and send it via your normal email program.
You can export a report from the report list on the Reports Home screen or when viewing a report directly.
When you click the Export link or button, you have a choice of which format to export.
AlertBoot offers three different formats for exporting a report:
Microsoft Excel Format (XLS)
Adobe Acrobat Format (PDF)
AlertBoot Report Definition (A-XML)
To export the file in either Excel (XLS) or Acrobat (PDF) format, choose the format from the dropdown list and then click the Export button.
Your browser will prompt you to save the file.
When printing from Microsoft Excel, you can force the report to print on one page or on a fixed set of pages by using the Fit To option under File --> Page Setup.
To export the report as a Report Definition, click the Export Definition button. For more information, see Report Definitions.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your browser does not prompt you to open or save an export, follow the steps below to change a setting in your browser.
In Internet Explorer, under the Tools menu, select Internet Options
Select the Security tab.
For Internet, click the Custom level... button
The Security Settings window appears. Find the Downloads section.
For "Automatic prompting for file downloads", select Enable.
Click OK.
