Users/Machines

The Users/Machines tab on the AlertBoot homepage allows administrators to add, edit, and delete users, or user groups.

 

 

The AlertBoot Users screen displays the following list on its left panel:

The AlertBoot Users screen enables you to perform the following:

 

 

 

The screen has a set of buttons, which allows you to add or delete a user or user groups. You can choose a user from the displayed list or by using the search option provided.

 

 

The screen displays a list of AlertBoot users and the number of available licences against them. The details of the number of devices encrypted are also displayed. The administrator can view and send a reminder Email to the user, to install AlertBoot on his device. The available options are:

 

 

 

 

Adding a New Endpoint User

Click Add User button to display the AlertBoot User Edit screen.

 

 

The AlertBoot User Edit screen contains the following fields:

 

 

Editing Endpoint User Information

  1. Click the user name listed on the left panel of the screen to manage or edit details of an existing user.

 

For example, James Anderson from the users list.

 

 

The AlertBoot User Detail screen is displayed where you can view and edit the user details. The following screen displays the user details of James Anderson. According to the display he has 7 machines, out of which 2 are not encrypted.

 

 

 

  1. Click Edit button to edit any of the fields namely, user details, recovery questions, or custom fields.

 

You can also click Create New Custom Field. For details to create new custom fields, see Create a New User Defined Field.

 

 

  1. Click the expandable button next to the name of the user to view details of his local machine/machines.

 

 

Locking Out a User from the Machine

You can lock a user out from a machine by selecting the Locked Out option provided.

 

If the user is an Active Directory User, you can also choose to lock or unlock the user out of all machines by using the following option buttons:

 

You can choose a machine from the displayed list or by using the search option provided. For example, in the figure below you have chosen a laptop used by Ashley. (LT stands for laptop computer and DT stands for a desktop computer).
